Simone’s passion for the OOSH sector started with her introduction to the Community led centre at the local primary school her children attended. It was the personal experience of the support that OOSH provided to her family and confidence in care she felt in the centre, that made Simone realise that the lives of working parents “could not work” without the centre delivering the quality service that it does. Simone felt so passionate about the importance of Community led centres and the positive impact she witnessed daily on the families in her local community, which led Simone to stand for the position of treasurer on the Parent Committee.
It was in this role that Simone gained an appreciation and respect for the depth and scale of responsibility on the Centre Directors plate. This responsibility encompassed the care of hundreds of children am/pm. The Centre Director is one of the only consistent and significant relationships that the children build from Kindergarten to Year 6. The Centre Director also has the monumental role of inspiring and guiding a large group of carers, as well as leading and developing the support and care program for the children.
Importantly, this is all done whilst delivering on common goals and building relationships with the school community – centre members, principals and under the direction of a parent committee.
It is for this reason that OOSH Solutions was founded – in order to offer support and create a trusted partner to the Centre Director and support the Parent Committee’s need to adhere to the Governance, Administration & Accounting requirements.
Simone is a fully qualified Chartered Accountant, a Graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has extensive experience gained over 20 years of Corporate Finance Experience at a Chief Finance Director and Board level.
